Volunteering Requirements
Each player contributes a $30 volunteering deposit. The volunteering requirement is met by the following:
- attending one virtual Springfield meeting on April 7, June 1, or the AGM on July 14 at 7:00 PM and
- Some form of duty (e.g., carry equipment for the season, umpiring, etc.) for their team and
- volunteering at our club’s fundraising tournament in the fall, including umpiring games as a new or experienced umpire (this is a great opportunity to learn and practise with on-field support);
- volunteering in a role with our management team or the league executive, these positions significantly contribute to the club and qualify toward earning the volunteer deposit.After the high school fundraising tournament, if the volunteering criteria were met, the volunteer deposit of $30 will be returned.
Umpires
We need UMPIRES on each team! Umpires are essential to the game and we are often required to provide an umpire from our team for games. To allow our existing player-umpires to play as much as possible, consider stepping up to assist in this role. Learning the rules is a great way to improve your own skill level and give back. FHC has a Community Umpire Course online.
