Volunteering Requirements
Each player contributes a $30 volunteering deposit. The volunteering requirement is met by the following:
- Attending one Springfield meeting on April 1, June 2, or AGM on July 15 on Zoom at 7:00 PM and
- Some form of duty (e.x, carry equipment for the season, umpiring, etc.) for their team and
- Volunteering at our club’s fundraising tournament in the fall. We ask everyone to give 4 hours to help the tournament run smoothly. One important piece is umpiring games. This is a great opportunity to learn and practice with on-field support or
- Volunteering in a role with our management team or the league executive. These positions significantly contribute to the club and earning the volunteer deposit. Here are the positions we are looking for this year.
- After the high school fundraising tournament, if the volunteering criteria were met, the volunteer deposit of $30 will be returned.
Umpires
We need UMPIRES on each team! To allow our existing umpires to play as much as possible, step up to assist in this role in the program. Learning the rules is a great way to improve your own skill level and give back. Umpires are paid at a rate of $40 per game.
FHO is running an umpire clinic on Saturday, May 10 2025. This will be in-person. Here is the link to the form.
Recreational League
Please note the recreational league program is currently on pause. When the program is running, the recreational team meets once a week usually at a central field in KW. There are practices and skills development that are run weekly by a volunteer. There are some times exhibition games held with other teams in the area. Players of any skill level are welcome, from ages 13 and up.
